Designed by the prolific architect, James Miller for the Caledonian Railway Company who operated the line that ran past Caledonian Mansions with Kelvin Bridge Rail Station just below the mansions.
Other notes; Miller was also responsible for Glasgow Central Station, St Enoch Subway Station, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and many buildings in Glasgow’s business district.
